Psychological disorders or mental disorders are the patterns of behaviors that a person shown in his daily life. You can easily judge what’s going in the mind of other people who are exhibiting these behaviors. These behavioral changes become severe with the passage of time. You can only eliminate the symptoms when you know what’s causing it.

Anxiety disorders are due to excessive anxiety or fear. The disorder can be viewed when you have a constant fear and excessive worry about something that is going to happen.   • Agoraphobia

Agoraphobia relates to the phobia of visiting public places. The person with agoraphobia will prefer to visit a public place where he can easily leave, or he has a trusted friend there. In many cases, people with Agoraphobia get themselves trapped in the home.

  • Claustrophobia

It is one of the prominent psychological disorders in which a person can’t stay in a small place such as an elevator, a car or a dressing room. Being in those small room discomfort the people with claustrophobia. Both children and adults can have this phobia, and they reveal the same pattern.

  • Panic Disorder

Panic disorder causes when you have a strong fear of something that would hurt you for no reason. This feeling so severe that it lasts for years and may lead to a heart attack. People with panic disorders can’t perform their normal activities.

  • Perfectionism

Perfectionism is related to a person’s self-esteem and his worth. The people suffering from this disorder can’t perform their work or assignment. They always have a fear of being not perfect for the job. Loved ones, parents and teachers have their major role in uplifting this fear among children and adults.

Autistic Disorder

The autistic spectrum is more common among children when he feels uncomfortable with the environment adopts loneliness, limits social life, and performs a repetitive pattern of behavior. Autistic disorder is related to neurodevelopmental disorders because it is detected in early age.

  • Asperger Syndrome

Asperger syndrome is more likely a genetic disorder that is a form of mild autism. In most cases, the children are born with the sign of this syndrome. It is treatable, and many successful people in the world had Asperger syndrome.

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

ASD is very common among these days around the world as 1 out of 88 children has autism. The child suffering from autism spectrum disorder doesn’t perform and react like other children.  Social isolation, repetitive behavior, following a strict routine and verbal repetition are some of the symptoms of this disorder among children. It needs proper awareness to stop the rising cases of ASD.

Sleep Disorders

Sleep disorder is a condition that causes a change in your sleep. It makes you uncomfortable in the night, and it has horrible consequences on your health. It is very important to control and cure the sleeping disorders; otherwise, they become severe with the passage of time. The following are the most common sleep disorders.

  • Insomnia

Insomnia is the most common and growing sleep disorder in the world. It puts a horrible impact on your overall health. You will face difficulty to enjoy quality sleep or stay in sleep when you have insomnia. Reports concluded that about 40% population of North America and 45% of the population of the UK is facing insomnia. Stress, anxiety, heart health, medication, and respiratory problem may cause insomnia

Sleep terrors are due to Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep cycle because eyes are always jet from left to right when we have sleep terror.   • Hypersomnolence

Hypersomnolence disorder occurs when you want more sleep, although you have enjoyed the main period of sleep. The individuals with this disorder often sleep in office or college.

Affective Disorder

The affective disorder is also known as a mood disorder, as the mood is the main underlying feature in these disorders. Your mood changes every moment, such as depression and elevated mood. Following are the types of affective disorder;

  • Bereavement

Bereavement is just another of saying grief after the death of a loved one. In normal circumstances, the psychologists don’t recommend treating so; let the person heal on its own. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance are the stages of bereavement. A person with bereavement needs family and friends support to heal and come out of this disorder naturally.

  • Bipolar Disorder

One of the most complicated physiological disorders is bipolar disorder as it as 16 sub-types that make it even more difficult to treat. You can see with the extreme mood swings such as happier and depressed. People with bipolar need sincere relations and helping hand.

  • Self Harm (Cutting)

Self-injury and or self-harm is common in both male and female. This mental illness leads to severe wounds and injuries on the body. People with this disorder can have another disorder such as personality disorder or sleep disorder. Some people harm themselves when they find themselves guilty of something that they had done in the past. Keep in mind that people with self-harm disorder cut the body just to seek relief and not to suicide or die.

Eating Disorders

Eating disorder relates to abnormal eating habits. The people with this disorder don’t usually eat with the family and make lame excuses that they had eaten, or they will eat at a friend’s home. An eating disorder may lead to some side effects, and it affects daily activities as well. The following are the types of eating disorders.

  • Bulimia Nervosa

Bulimia is a mental disorder of extreme overeating. In this disorder, a person consumes a large amount of food in a short time. After knowing that what has been done by the person, he starts vomiting or exercise compulsively to get rid of the food. The people with bulimia nervosa are often depressed, but this disorder is easily curable.

  • Anorexia Nervosa

During Anorexia Nervosa, a person stops eating anything, and he/she doesn’t eat for a long period of time. This mental disorder is getting a hype in the media; more people are on this psychological disorder to have a slim and trim body. People don’t want to gain weight, and that’s why they think quitting food may be the best way to lose weight.

  • Pica

Pica is another mental illness or psychological disorder when a person usually eats non-food items such as soap, paper, dirt, and wood. This disorder is more common in children.

Thought Disorder

Thought disorder is actually the disruption in the patient’s beliefs and ideas. It is a problem in the person’s ideas, and a person can’t put everything in an ordered sequence. Furthermore, thought disorder might lead a person to delusions and hallucinations. A person usually does rapid and illogical speech when he is under this disorder.

  • Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is one of the most difficult psychological disorders to understand and treat, and it varies from person to person. Only 1% population of the world is with this disorder. It comes with delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thinking and speech and results in the loss of brain tissue.

A study conducted by the researcher found that the people with this disorder had a smaller brain as compared to the normal people.
